Fall Lineup
With VBS, youth camp and other summer
activities behind us, we thank the Lord for the blessings He
gave and look forward to a busy fall. In addition to our regular
ministry, we also have some extra responsibilities to share
with you.
We are assisting the Dali Faith Baptist Church while their
missionary pastor, Malcom Feistel , is in the US undergoing
chemotherapy treatments for colon cancer. Although few in number,
the workers at this church are doing a good job filling in
and just need some encouragement and added direction that we
hopefully can bring for this period of time. Please pray for
physical strength and wisdom as we go back and forth to help
this ministry on the other side of our city.
Andy is also teaching a class on Matthew at the Chinese Baptist
Bible College to fill in for the Feistels. Without a lot of
useable Chinese materials, it means that more time must be
spent preparing, but we believe it is important to help train
more workers for Christian service.
September Highlights
September brings the Mid-Autumn
Festival, a celebration of the beginning of the fall season
and, hopefully, cooler weather. Barbequing is the main feature
of this holiday and so this year we had church-wide barbeques
at both Lighthouse Baptist and Taya Baptist. Many unsaved attended
as well as several families. It was a good way to share the
gospel and show that Christians can enjoy good fellowship as
well.
Recently during our community English outreach
at Lighthouse, we read about some future events including the
Great White Throne Judgment. An elderly Chinese man named King
who has been attending for more than a year was disturbed that
God wouldn't just accept every “good” person and that Jesus Christ
was the only way to Heaven. We were amazed to literally see
the “light” turning on for him. We constantly present these
spiritual truths, but Satan has them blinded and they don't
readily comprehend. Please pray that King's anger will soften
and turn into repentance and acceptance before it is too late.
Also, pray for this outreach because it is giving us opportunities
to reach many unsaved people who otherwise wouldn't come to
church.
We pray that your fall will also give you many
opportunities to bring forth fruit so that together we may
have a great harvest for the Lord!
For
souls,

Andy
