Fall Harvest
It has been several months since we have seen anyone saved in our services. This is a little discouraging and at times causes us to question our ministry. Despite this, we are glad for the growth of our “baby Christians” and “wait on the Lord” while sowing the seed.
With the coming of fall, however, the Lord did send a small harvest that we hope will lead to an even greater time of reaping. Cecilia (Tang Mei-jywan) has been attending the ladies' meeting at Lighthouse for six months. This past summer, her dad passed away and according to Chinese tradition she had to cease all “extra” activities. What a thrill it was when she actually came back. Then one Tuesday morning the attendance was lower than normal and so Lisa had a better opportunity to talk with her. Cecilia admitted she needed to be saved and prayed right there to accept Christ. She has enthusiastically worked on discipleship lessons and has also attended our Sunday service.
Judy (Leo Chyou-chyin) was recommended to Lighthouse and began attending the Tuesday ladies' meeting. After several visits, she brought her husband and children to a Sunday evening service. The next week we were able to talk in depth with her about her spiritual condition. Although she had recently been saved, she had not been baptized and was not attending a church. After counseling, we baptized her, and she has already brought some unsaved friends to church.
A single mom named Penny (Wu Pei-jywan) and her son Shogo that have been attending Lighthouse for six months finally agreed to follow the Lord in baptism as well. She had been saved several years ago and even studied and attended church in the US , but had never been scripturally baptized.
We also praise the Lord that two teen boys who have been faithfully attending services were saved at Taya Bible Baptist Church this month. Also, while assisting at the Dali Faith Baptist Church , we have seen two saved and a young man join the church.
All of these are small but important victories. They need your prayers because Satan will surely attack and try to discourage them through the pressure of family and friends. We also need your prayers for wisdom to help these new Christians and strength to continue on in the Lord's harvest in Taiwan.

For souls,

 Andy & Lisa Simpson
