Friend Day
This year instead of our regular
church anniversary service, we decided to have “Friend Day” and
challenge our people to invite as many people as possible.
We also asked you to pray for this outreach and, praise the
Lord, there were nine first time visitors as well as others
that had not attended for a while. Our special speaker, fellow
missionary David Homer, brought a simple salvation message,
and although no one openly responded to the invitation, we
can rest in the fact that everyone clearly heard the gospel
presented to them. We hope that at least some will remember
what they heard and the Holy Spirit will bring conviction in
their hearts.
Updates
Judy Leo continues to be faithful and
has completed her basic discipleship lessons. She really desires
for her husband to accept Christ as his Savior so they can
have a good Christian home for their two children. Please pray
that she will have wisdom and patience as a good testimony
and that her husband's indifference won't cause her to become
discouraged.
Cecilia Tang, was saved in October and, although starting
well, has not been as faithful lately. “Things” have come up
to keep her from attending, and friends who were coming with
her but showed no spiritual interest have decided not to come
back. Pray that we will have wisdom to help her, and that she
will have a spiritual hunger that will overcome these hindrances.
John and Candy Hsie, teenagers at Daya Bible Baptist Church
, finally received permission from their parents to be baptized.
While we thank the Lord for this, there are still many other
teens whose parents have not yet consented and really need
your prayers.
Christmas Preparations
With “Friend Day” behind
us, everyone has been working hard preparing for our next major
activity – the Christmas Celebration
Service. Decorations are up and flyers and tracts are being
prepared for distribution. We know that you are also preparing
for Christmas activities and so we will join you in prayer
that souls may be reached for Christ around the world. After
all, that is the real meaning of Christmas! We also hope that
you have a blessing-filled Christmas with family and friends.
For
souls,
