Empty Tomb - Full Church
Although still not as “popular” as Christmas, we praise the Lord that attendance at Easter services has steadily improved. This year there were a good number of first-time visitors as well as some who only show up on special days. We joyfully shared the good news of the empty tomb with everyone who came, and pray that they will soon receive Christ as Savior. Thank you for praying for John Pan who kept his promise and brought his cancer-stricken mother to the Easter service at Lighthouse so she could hear the gospel. Please continue to pray for both mother and son’s spiritual condition.
Fantastic Moms
Because Mother’s Day is a very important holiday in Taiwan, our churches held several activities in addition to special Sunday services. Lighthouse Baptist had an afternoon tea during Children’s Bible club. Many unsaved mothers attended and we were able to share the gospel with them and encourage them to be fantastic mothers! We hope that one day they will be fantastic Christian mothers and families!
Answered Prayer
Last year at this time we were stunned when Lighthouse’s landlord suddenly notified us that he wanted to sell our building. After much prayer the landlord gave us another year to move, but things had not been looking very promising with rent in the city sky-rocketing. Our hope and prayer was that someone would be willing to buy our building and continue renting to us at a reasonable price. Then, a real estate agent who was trying to help us find a buyer called and advised us to talk with our landlord again. It seems that he had changed his mind and decided not to sell but to rent to us again. We believe it was prayer that changed his mind and ask you to continue praying that in the next few months when we do sign a new contract that the rent will be reasonable.
We also thank the Lord for sending two new independent Baptist missionary couples to Taiwan in April. It had been a long drought (13 years) since the last couple came and stayed – us! It will be a while before these new missionaries can really help in the Chinese work since they must go to language school. At the same time, there are several churches and new works that are calling for their assistance. We praise the Lord for these missionaries but encourage you to continue praying for more workers in this needy field.

For souls,
