One
of our girls at Lighthouse Baptist Church wrote the following
article about New Life in Christ recently. We've tried to translate
it the best we could without losing some of her “flavor.”
New
Life
I
remember when I was in first grade, the first time I went to
a church I felt very strange. I thought “What
on earth is a church?” But with Pastor and Mrs. Simpson's encouragement
and the fact that I could hear Bible stories, sing hymns, learn
English, and also could do crafts; little by little I liked
going to church.
Pastor often said, “God is called wonderful
and Prince of Peace - He will give us peace, happiness and
those that believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting
life.” When
I heard that, I was moved. Even though I really wanted to believe,
I was afraid my mom would be angry, so I kept those thoughts
inside . (The Chinese literally says, “I swallowed them
down into my stomach!”) But mothers and daughters hearts
are joined and my mom knew what I was thinking. So, in 2001,
one Sunday night after service Mama suddenly asked me, “Judy,
do you really want to believe in Jesus,” I was shocked but
with all my heart said, ”Indeed! I really want to trust Jesus.” At
last, both of us on Easter Sunday night confessed our sins
and believed in the Lord. From that time on, Mama and I are
also sisters in God's family.
Presently, I am in fifth grade.
Over these past five years, no matter typhoon or rain,
I have never stopped going to Children's Bible club and Sunday
service. Church really is a happy place because there I
get support and encouragement and learn more about God.
Pastor
often says, “We can't be selfish Christians.” I hope
I can bring more of my classmates and friends to meet the Lord
Jesus who is full of grace.
Let's all work hard,
work together ….
and everybody “Go”!
Not only does Judy have a love for God and
heart for the lost, but her mom does as well. This week she
gave a testimony of how she is trying to be a witness on
her job, and also asked if there were some more Bible lessons
beyond the basic discipleship course that she could study.
She has a real desire to continue growing in the Lord and to
serve Him; please pray that this will be the sincere attitude
among all of our believers.
This was such a blessing to our hearts
and we trust that you were thrilled as well to hear of changed
lives because of your prayers and support. The gospel of
Christ is making a difference in Taiwan ; thank you for being
a faithful part of God's work!
For
souls,
