Dear Friends,

Mathew 28: 19-20 commands the church to preach the gospel in every
country, lead them to the Lord and
disciple those who are saved so that they can go out and win others to
the Lord . In other words, we are to plant churches. To do this
effectively we try to target men especially so we can train them for
leadership in the church.
For us, one effective way of contacting and witnessing to men is through
sports. We mainly work with men by actively participating in community
sports outreaches. The most loved sport of Thailand is Soccer. This last
month our deaf ministry was able to compete in a nation wide all deaf
soccer tournament. We thank God for the opportunity to come in 2nd place
nation wide. We also thank God for exposure that it gave us through the
country of Thailand. Everyday for four days we were in the national
newspaper as the Bangjak Baptist Church Soccer Team. Three days we were
on television and we also received a full page color photo of our team
in the Siam Soccer Magazine.

We have had many people stop us and say that they had been keeping up on
the competitions. This has lead to great opportunities to witness and
bring people to the church.
As a result of the Soccer outreach we have seen 11 young men accept
Christ and one more this past week. It is always exciting to see God
work in the lives of these new Christians. Please be praying for them!!
Through the English outreaches, we thank the Lord for three young ladies
that have just recently received Christ as their Savior. Another way to
bring people to hear the message of salvation is through teaching
English classes. Every Wednesday, and Thursday we teach English in the
province of Nakhompathom and every Friday Saturday and Sunday we teach
English at our church in Bangkok. All classes are free but we ask the
students to stay for 30 minutes of Thai Bible study. Through this
method, we have planted 2 churches and are now in the process of opening
up another work by using English as a medium to bring people in. We
thank God that he has allowed us to see many people come to Christ
through English as well as the Sports ministry.

We have only 2 more months before teen camp which is another great
outreach of the Baptist Independent Churches in Thailand. Please pray
about this great opportunity to reach young people and see young men
give their lives to serving God as full-time pastors. You can have a
part in this ministry also.
The cost for a young person to go to camp is only $15.00 which includes
their room and board at the camp and also their traveling to the camp.
We would love to see at least 150 young people at the camp this year but
we need financial help for these kids to go.
Please keep praying for us as we continue to seek ways to present the
gospel in the country that God has called us to.
Serving Christ together in Thailand,
Ricky Salmon
