Matt Johnson
Missionary Intern to the Philippines

September 2005

Dear Friends,
My name is Matt Johnson and I am currently serving a two year term in the
country of the Philippines. During these next few years I am able to work and serve with many of the Filipino youth by teaching in local Bible Colleges and also conducting youth services and outreach activities. With 55% of the population being under the age of 22 we are constantly looking for ways to reach these students to show them the plan God has for their lives.
A very successful area we have been able to reach these students through is youth camp. Last year five weeks of camp were held with a thousand students in attendance each week. This year between the months of April and March our goal is to have 20,000 campers, and it will be possible for these students to go to camp for $7. This includes transportation to the camp, food, lodging, services, and activities.
I know many churches want to get involved with missions but a monthly support commitment is sometimes difficult to promise. However because of this open door, I thought it would be awesome to see not only the congregation but the youth groups themselves get involved by taking a one time love offering for the youth camps in the Philippines.
Camp in the states are constantly increasing in price and usually members of the church support a camper. With this price being so low I think this challenge offers the students to have the opportunity to send a person to camp and share the same experiences they have a camp with person of their own age. If this sounds like a project your church would like to have part in please contact me for more details. Again this one time offering can be raised however you would like… …Be creative. Thank you again for your time and contact me for any additional information that you need.

Take Care,

Matt Johnson
