LLOYD AND EDITH BAKER
MISSIONARIES TO THE PHILIPPINES

MARCH 2008

Dear Friends:

Dr. Felicidad Felicilda and his wife Rhory are now in the Congo. They are assisting Elmer Deal in his tremendous ministry there. They are studying French and Swahili. He preaches in different Baptist churches, holds discipleship classes in 2 churches, oversees the translation of Bible College material prepared by Missionary Mel Brown, and is planning to revive a Bible College soon. His wife teaches English in 2 churches and they both are active in witnessing for Christ. He recently baptized 7 new converts.

Prices are very high in the Congo. Rent runs from $1000 to $3000 a month, a can of sardines costs $1.00, a print cartridge is $40, and their internet connection is $170 a month. The Congo has almost no postal service. The Felicilda’s gave up a prosperous medical practice to serve the Lord in the Congo and their support is low. Please pray for them.

Mike and Sandie Reap are BBFI missionaries in the Philippines and on a short furlough now. In a missions conference in California they met Lyle Yarnell missionary to Zambia. Lyle asked Mike if he knew a “Mario” in Zambia. Mike said, “Yes I know Mario Genada.a Filipino missionary using Asian Baptist Clearinghouse.” Lyle said Mario had a building seating 300 and filled it up every Sunday. Bro. Genada also has several missions, a Bible College training preachers, and is reaching into rural areas with the gospel.

Here are two examples of the work being done by the missionaries using Asian Baptist Clearinghouse. Please pray for these missionaries and for ABC as we assist these men and women in preparing for and getting to the field. Your partnership with us is also a partnership with ABC. Thank you for holding the ropes.

Together in His harvest;

Lloyd and Edith Baker
