LLOYD AND EDITH BAKER
MISSIONARIES TO THE PHILIPPINES

MARCH 2009

Dear Praying Friends:

The Lord willing Edith and I will depart for the states April 14. There are two reasons for our trip. In May we will celebrate 50 years as BBFI missionaries and will attend the Fellowship Meeting at BBC. The second is a health issue. I was admitted to the hospital on March 21 with some chest pain. After an angiogram, heart cauterization and an ECG the good doctors pronounced no blocked arteries and a good heart. They recommended a pace maker since I have strong irregular heart beat at times. We want to get a second opinion and can do that while in Springfield. Lord willing we will return to the field June 8. Please pray I can get the health problem settled.

On April 5 I was asked to preach the 35th anniversary of Calvary Baptist Church, Quezon City where Edwin Imperial is pastor. Their theme was "GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE." The children gave a musical presentation, the choir sang a mini-cantata and I preached. I had a great time preaching through Psalm 47 with verse 8 as my text. The auditorium was packed with people standing around the walls. God graciously spoke to hearts. As I stated in a previous prayer letter led Edwin to Christ under a coconut tree many years ago in Legaspi City. God has used him to build a great work.

Every month I try to think of a different way to say thank you. I am fresh out of ideas. So from a heart filled with gratitude we just say thank you for your continued financial and prayer support.

Together in His harvest;

Lloyd and Edith Baker
